Our Colombian decaf coffee is special because it has never been chemically treated. Our decaf coffee is treated either by the Swiss Water Process or the Mountain Water Process.

The Swiss Water Process is "a chemical-free decaffeination method that utilizes water, temperature, and time to extract caffeine from unroasted (green) coffee beans, while preserving their natural flavor and aroma." This process produces higher quality and better tasting decaffeinated coffee that doesn't compromise on the taste of the organic beans.  

The Mountain Water Decaffeination Process, like the Swiss Water Process, involves soaking unroasted coffee beans in glacier water to dissolve caffeine and coffee solids. The water is then filtered through activated charcoal to remove caffeine but retain flavor compounds.
